Recently Wildside Press published Hours of the Dragon: The Weird Works of Robert E. Howard, Volume 8. The volume includes The Hour of the Dragon and Howard’s “Hyborian Age” essay, along with an introduction by Paul Herman.
For some bizarre reason, Wildside is pluralizing the titles of some of the Howard stories these volumes are named after (Shadow Kingdoms, Gardens of Fear, the upcoming Black Hounds of Death), which is a bit annoying. Further, the publication schedule has crawled to a snail’s pace. I don’t know if this is due to the fact Paradox took control of all things Howard shortly after the series began publication, but by the time all ten volumes appear in their hardcover format, it will be some five or six years after the first volume, Shadow Kingdoms, appeared. For folks that pre-paid upfront for the ten volume set, that is a long time to wait.
